On Saturday March 24th the SouLift Fitness community joined together once again for the 2nd Annual Chili Cook-Off for a Cause held at the Midland VFW.
Organized by SouLift Fitness member Polly Brown, the Chili Cook-Off brought out over 100 people to test 15 different and unique styles and flavors. From Southwest White to Vegan to Traditional, all were welcome. Others donated baked goods for sale.
Tasters voted for their favorite with dollar bills. The Chili with the most money at the end of the night was declared the winner.
Danielle McKinney won with her Vegan Chili and raised a total of $109.
"Last year SouLift raised 500 dollars for The Humane Society. This year we had a goal of doubling that and surpassed it. We have already set a goal of 5,000 dollars for next year."
In March, SouLift raised a total of $2,578 for local charities.
